FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
Frequently asked questions about collections, commissions and professional projects.
Here we answer some common questions about how we work, the types of orders we accept, how samples work and what you should consider before starting a project with Cerámica J. Marín.
Do you work with shops, brands and professionals?
Do you sell individual pieces as well as collections?
We work with both individual pieces and collections. For professional clients, we usually consider a selection of pieces, an existing collection or a bespoke development depending on the project.
What is the minimum order for professional clients?
The minimum professional order depends on the type of piece, collection and project. Before confirming a proposal, we review quantities, timeline and specific requirements.
Can you adapt colours to match table linens, fabrics or a specific colour palette?
Yes. We can work from colour references, textiles, moodboards, images or physical samples. We always explain the specific limitations of ceramics, as colour behaves differently on clay, glaze and after firing than it does on paper or fabric.
Can I request a physical sample before production?
For bespoke projects, where appropriate, we can prepare a physical sample on the actual piece to assess colour, finish, gloss, weight and overall presence before moving into production.
How long does a bespoke order take?
Lead times depend on the type of piece, quantity, level of customisation and the workshop’s production schedule. Handcrafted ceramics require time for preparation, decoration, drying, firing and final inspection.
Do you ship internationally?
We can assess international enquiries depending on the country, type of order and logistical requirements. For each project, we review the destination, packaging, transport and estimated delivery times.
Is the ceramic suitable for food use?
Pieces intended for table use must meet the appropriate requirements for food contact. Before providing a definitive answer, we will confirm the materials, finishes and recommended use for each type of piece.
Is it dishwasher safe?
Care recommendations may vary depending on the type of piece, finish and intended use. Before providing a definitive answer, we will confirm which pieces are dishwasher safe and which require hand washing.
Do you offer white-label production?
We do not operate as a fully white-label manufacturer. Each piece retains J. Marín’s authorship as a guarantee of origin, craftsmanship and artisanal production. We can consider different forms of collaboration with brands, while always respecting the workshop’s authorship.
Can you copy a design from another brand or supplier?
We do not copy third-party designs. We can develop pieces inspired by a colour palette, a visual direction, a style or a specific requirement, but always through an original proposal that respects the work of other brands and creators.
What is the difference between your ceramics and industrial production?
Our ceramics are handcrafted in small batches and decorated by hand. This means that each piece may show slight variations in colour, pattern or finish, which are inherent to handmade work. We do not seek the absolute uniformity of industrial production, but rather pieces with presence, individuality and character.
